Admin procedures

Add a new PGT-lab user

  1. Install Microsoft Remote Desktop on your computer if you don't already have it.
  2. Start Microsoft Remote Desktop.
  3. Connect to torus.nscamg.local:
    • Use your Active Directory (AD) account to log in.
    • If a certificate warning appears, accept it.
  4. Log in to dc1.nscamg.local:
    • Once connected to torus.nscamg.local, use Remote Desktop to log in to dc1.nscamg.local.
  5. Open Server Manager:
    • The "Server Manager" will either open automatically after logging in dc1.nscamg.local, or you can find it in the Start menu.
  6. Access Active Directory Users and Computers:
    • In the "Server Manager," go to the Tools menu and select Active Directory Users and Computers to get started.
  7. Go to nscamg.local\Nsc\_users\Personal users, right-click Diag, select New -> User. Enter first and last name, and username. On the next page enter password. If the user is there, they can set the password.
  8. Double-click the created user, Go to "Member Of" tab, click "Add", add ous-diag-lab and PGT-lab groups to the user.

PGT Data Storage

NextSeq data for PGT is stored at /boston/runScratch/PGT folder. The bioinformaticians (ous-diag-bioinf group members) and users in the PGT-lab group have access to this folder.
